Mia and Larry – USNA Wedding – Anne Canon Photography

From the moment I met Mia and her mom last year, I knew that I wanted to work with Mia (and Larry).  Mia was so excited to be planning her wedding in Annapolis where she and Larry truly fell in love.  These two have known each other since high school.  However, it was not until Larry invited Mia to the USNA ring dance the spring of his junior year at the academy that their love story truly began.  I often hear that I am more involved in the wedding planning process then other photographers that my couples have experience at their friends and families weddings.  It is my belief that I am here to help my couples dreams come true beyond just capturing their wedding days.  If that means offering vendor suggestions, working on timelines, providing my opinion on various other aspects of the day I am happy to do so.  I also love getting updates throughout the planning process.  I especially loved when Mia shared with me that she and Larry would be making the cake for their wedding with the help of her bridesmaid.  Without hesitation, I asked Mia if I could come over to the home they had rented for the week to photograph this process.  Mia was more than happy to have me document this for her and Larry.  The bonus for me was that for the 2nd time this year I was also able to photograph Mia’s details which freed up some time on her wedding day.  The one detail I did not photograph was the dress since Larry was at the house, and Mia had a huge surprise for him with regard to the dress….. As it turns out, Mia had not 1, but 2 looks for her wedding day!  Mia’s main gown that she wore for the ceremony was a beautiful lace for fitting gown.  However, her 2nd look was a stunning ball gown skirt that she was able to pull on over her dress!

Some of my favorite moments from the day included:

  • Larry’s reaction to Mia’s first dress – He seriously checked her out from head to toe!
  • The Pirate ship passing by as we were taking portraits on the sea wall
  • Mia and her mom walking down the aisle – it is a LONG aisle and the smiled and laughed the entire way
  • Mia’s reaction as she and Larry exited through their sword arch
  • Larry and I trying out Mia’s skirt – To be honest, Mia wore it BEST!

Thank you to Mia and Larry for allowing me the privilege of being your wedding photographer!
