Letters to Our Son’s September

Dear Son,

I had no idea what I was going to write this month until I drove up tonight and your friend was in the driveway with the basketball waiting for you. It instantly ht me that this months letter needed to be about your home! Over the past 10 days there has been a lot of talk in our house about moving. We considered a move to the island of St. Croix, and when we decided that now was not the right time to move to an island we decided to look at another home here in our town. During this time I want you to know that I heard what you were saying about this being your home and you not wanting to leave. You have lived here since you were two years old and it is the only home you remember. I have no idea what that feeling is like. While I lived in several homes there are only three that I remember. I believe there are advantages to both was of growing up. While I want to give you some of the adventures that I had growing up I am also very envious of the fact that you have a friend two doors down that you have known since you were two. Even when I am frustrated with the two of you, I still light up inside thinking about all of the memories that you share with your friends at our home!
