What To Expect During Your Engagement Session

What To Expect During Your Engagement Session

So, you have decided to get married. You have hired your photographer. Your photographer includes an engagement session with your package.  So, now the question is “what to expect during your engagement session”.

Expect me to laugh when you “warn” me that you are awkward in front of the camera. I hear this at 90% of my sessions. It is totally normal to think this way, but I promise the end result will not be awkward looking photos.

You should expect to spend an hour or two taking photos. This is a time to relax and get comfortable in front of the camera.

Expect me to ask a lot of questions.  I love learning more about my couples and I find that as we walk and talk everyone begins to relax.

Expect to kiss a lot.  I will get you set into poses then I may ask you to look at me, look at each other and then kiss.

Expect to laugh.  You may be laughing at me tripping over things as I attempt to walk and talk.  You may be laughing as you tell me things about each other.  No matter the reason, the genuine smiles and laughs will always make it to the full gallery.

Expect to do a fair amount of walking between locations. Often times even one location has multiple hidden gems within it that make for great backdrops. So, I suggest that you bring some comfortable shoes to slip on and off between locations.

Expect me to try a variety of poses. Not all of them will “work” and we will move on from those. While others will feel completely natural and we will repeat those poses at various locations.

Expect me to take a lot of photos.  On average I take 300 images during an engagement session. After the session I will go through the images and select the best images from the session.  On average you will end up with 50 images in your gallery.

Expect to see a preview of your images. I have no problem showing you a few images on the back of the camera during the session.  I also love sharing a couple of your images with you via instagram within a few days of the session.

Expect to have your full gallery edited and sent to you within 2 weeks of your session.

Expect to have fun!  It is my goal to have you walk away from the session excited to see your images.
