Mollie and Maris – Annapolis Wedding

Mollie and Maris – Annapolis Wedding

Mollie and Maris were married on a gorgeous November day in Annapolis, Maryland.  I started the day with Mollie and her bridal party at an adorable little air b&b just off main street in Annapolis.  The location was perfect as it had beautiful window light in the bridal suite and a back deck with views of the Maryland Capitol.  Once Mollie was dressed in her stunning BHLDN gown Maris arrived at the house.

Mollie and Maris planned ahead and wrote to each other in separate books titled “Reasons I Want To Marry You”.  After reading the books Mollie headed out to the deck where she and Maris had their first look.  I loved hearing Mollie tell the story of how a week prior to the wedding she asked Maris to describe what her gown would look like.  Maris was spot on with his description of a lace gown with sleeves and an open back!

Prior to arriving at the church we spent some time in the streets of downtown Annapolis where we literally stopped traffic to get a shot of the bridal party with main street behind them.  One of the things I love about shooting an Annapolis wedding is that the community is always so nice and accommodating as I walk around with a groups of 10-20 people stopping at various locations for a variety of shots.  For the street shot a perfect stranger even ran out into the road to keep cars from trying to drive in front of our group.

St. Mary’s church is absolutely beautiful and provided the perfect backdrop for Mollie and Maris ceremony.  I loved that the priest Mollie and Maris chose for their ceremony was a friend of Mollie’s family.  He was able to deliver a homily that was personal, funny and heartwarming all at the same time.

With Mollie and Maris officially husband and wife we headed to the waterfront for a few sunset photos.  However, with rain and clouds moving in, there was no sunset to be seen.  Instead we were treated to a beautiful deep blue sky.

Mollie and Maris spent time at the Outer Banks this summer collection oyster shells which they then hand painted to use as place cards for all of their guests!  Other personal choices for their reception included a donut table, M & M’s for Mollie and Maris, a polaroid guest book and a cigar bar!  The night was filled with good food, laughter, dances and lots of celebration!

Congratulations to Mollie and Maris, I could not be happier for you!  Thank you for allowing me the privilege of being able to capture your memories.
