Lighthouse Point Connecticut – Destination Wedding Photographer

Ali and Zach first contacted me last summer regarding an engagement session in Washington D.C. Through our conversation, I learned that they were also looking for a destination wedding photographer for their Lighthouse Point wedding in New Haven, Connecticut. (Well….to be honest, they were originally going to look at photographers in Connecticut for the wedding) I knew the instant that I talked to Ali that I wanted to be their photographer. Ali was so full of energy and her excitement for the wedding was contagious!

I arrived in New Haven the day before the wedding and met with Ali, Zach and their wedding planner (Sarah from A Polished Plan ). We walked around Lighthouse Point and talked about the plan for the following day and then headed off to have some fantastic pizza for dinner!

On the day of the wedding I started the day with Zach and his groomsmen at his parents home. From there, I headed to the hotel where Ali and her bridal party were getting ready. I quickly learned that this group was going to be a blast to work with. Everyone was having a great time and you could tell that they could not be more excited to see their two friends get married! I could also tell that this group was going to be up for anything and they did not disappoint. From posing on the rocks, to giving me their best impersonation of Ali and Zach, to posing on an old carousel they were up for it all.

The ceremony was filled with personal touches including Ali and Zach’s dogs Thor and Ruby who served as the flower girl and ring bearer. The personal vows brought tears to the eyes of not only Zach and Ali but also many of their family and friends.

With the “I do’s” complete, it was time to start the party! The dance floor was packed the entire night other then when many of us stepped outside to enjoy a beautiful sunset!
