The Osprey’s at Belmont Bay Wedding – Brittany and Matt

Last Saturday Brittany and Matt had a beautiful wedding at The Osprey’s at Belmont Bay.  There was a bit of tension and nerves as I prepared for this wedding since it was forecasted to rain the entire day and I knew that Brittany and Matt had planed for an outdoor ceremony.  The Osprey’s at Belmont Bay is a unique venue in that you not only have water views you also have access to a golf course with a gorgeous weeping willow tree and rolling hills.  So, as you can imagine the thought of a complete rain out was heartbreaking.  Luckily, the weather was on the side of love and the rain cleared out at 4pm just in time for Brittany and Matt’s 6pm wedding.

Brittany and Matt have a love story made for the movies.  Brittany was kind enough to share their story in her own words and also shared a little background on how their vision for their wedding day became a reality:

“Matt and I met when he was five and I was three years old when his family moved in to the house across the street. We spent our childhood years playing in the neighborhood, going to school together, and becoming the best of friends. After years of friendship (and secretly having a crush on one another for years), we went on our first date when I was a sophomore in high school and we never looked back! We endured long distance for four years during college but after graduation I moved back to the DC area, we settled in to our first apartment together and he popped the question on a weekend getaway to the Outer Banks for our 8 year dating anniversary!

We had actually always dreamed of a destination/beach wedding but after getting engaged, we quickly realized the logistics of planning long-distance would be challenging and many of our family and friends might not be willing or able to travel so we had to think of a new plan. We knew we wanted to be married outside near the water (and somewhere local so family and friends could be there) and we came across our venue and fell in love! Throughout the planning process, the one word that keeps coming up in celebration – we want the day to be a celebration of our love, a celebration of joining our families and friends together, and a celebration of all that is still to come. Unfortunately we don’t have many sentimental pieces to incorporate but we are looking forward to starting some of our own to pass down. We are planning to have a sand unity ceremony with sand from the spot where we got engaged and we are looking forward to that!”

Thank you to Brittany and Matt for allowing me to be a part of your Osprey’s at Belmont Bay Wedding!
