Letters To My Son – March

Dear Son,

I just spent a wonderful week with you. I absolutely love our annual spring break trips. I never thought that our spur of the moment trip 6 years ago would have led us to where we are today.

You are such a good sport about being outnumbered by the girls on our trips. I hope that the insight you you gain from being around us will help you latter in life.  Yes, we do need to fix our hair and put on makeup before ridding segways. Yes, we can spend hours looking at bags and purses and yes you should stay silent and be patient.   But most of all I hope you have learned that we love having you with us!

One of the things I love about these trips is watching you interact with not only grandma, but also the other adults who we visit.  I think it says a lot about you and your maturity that you are able to interact and converse with them.  You are so kind and considerate and soak up all of the information that they share with you.  Not all teenagers are willing to sit around and talk about everything from twitter, to astronomy, to silly stories from the past. Yet you do it with a smile on your face and you also add to the conversations.

My absolute favorite thing about our trips is that we are spending time together!  It puts a huge smile on my face to know that you look forward to these trips.  I know that I only have a few more years until you will choose to go on Spring Break with your college friends. Until that time I will continue to hold on to the moments like our walks on the beach, building sand castles, playing football and even walking down Bourbon Street!  I am already excited to see what adventures we will have next Spring Break!

Love,

Mom
